I'm no doctor, but in plain english this seems to indicate they have noted areas of low density / darker on the scan in that section of the brain, and suspect there might be dead tissue yonder - there are some connotations of untreated stroke. I wouldn't get too worked up about it till they say something definitive.

Attenuation is a feature of CT, and low attenuation means that a particular area is less intense than the surrounding.
This means nothing to me, I just googled it. I would think a dead spot in your brain would be a bad thing.
