Have to make a water filter and find a way to filter chicken feces out of water using coal.. Help?

I think you mean charcoal. There is some confusion between the two because both are black and both are carbon. For instance barbecue charcoal is not charcoal, it is coal. Charcoal is made by heating wood without air. Then steam is passed through the charcoal for a few hours and that makes activated charcoal, which is good to use in filters because it absorbs dust, microbes, and solvents that make water unpleasant. An activated charcoal filter is not used to remove dirt or large particles.
Sand filters are not hard to make. You can find instructions with a google search. There are two types, fast and slow, so choose carefully.
