As a multi family household, we have had plenty of pack issues ourselves. The best way to manage aggression if the dogs never get along is the crate and rotate method. Keep the dogs separate giving each one time with the family and exercise time. We would keep all the dogs in crates and let them take turns being in the yard and house. If they never get at each other they can't fight. If it's just little spats you could let the dogs fight it out and resolve the issue. Once a dominant is established the other dog will usually back down. This is only an option if you know they won't seriously injure each other. To break up a dog fight, take the wiinning dog's collar and choke him until he releases the other dog, then separate the dogs. Or you could grab the winning dog's back legs and flip him. This usually shocks them into releasing the other dog. You should aim to not injure either dog, but being a little sore is better than being dead.
