Has anyone moved mountains by using faith in history?

Now, before you think I'm stupid, the Bible says that if someone has faith the size of a mustard seed, they will be able to move mountains (Matthew 17:20). So I was wondering, has anyone in history actually moved a mountain?

No, no one has. The whole point of that statement is that with faith in God you can accomplish anything HE sets you out to do. However, if he did want you to move a mountain and you had the faith in him to obey, it would move.

Faith is believing. One Greek word is translated both ways.

What you do is what you believe. "I believe I'll have a beer." See how it works?

Remember that we live in reality, not in a bunch of religious magic. So when you command a mountain to be removed, you should not be surprised to see a man shovel the mountain into a wheelbarrow. You should not feel cheated if you have to be the man. Here is a case of exactly that:

What Jesus was referring to in his comment about faith moving mountains, is that when an obstacle seems insurmountable, having faith that you can overcome will help you to do so. He was not referring to literally moving a mountain!
