Had a accident in Portugal on Airport Transfer now been told not covered on third party insurance?

Question

This was in 2013 and just been told via a Solicitor.  All vehicles should be insured to at least third party insurance so can't understand the reason why I am not covered.  Any help would be great.

i would call the insurance people and ask them about getting coverage this would either get you some or they will tell  you its not needed or why your not covered.
