so I have this acoustic guitar that I've had since middle school. (I'm in college now). I don't know exactly when it happened but ever since sometime, the tuning started to mess up. Its not that the tuning would mess up, the sound from the lower frets are fije but when I play the higer frets like the 12th, I have to play the 11th and lift it a bit to make the 12th sound.
My question is. What's happened exactly? And also, Can this be fixed?

A possible cause is that the neck of your guitar has bent, do you change your strings often? Also it's probably because it's old if you have used your guitar for years everyday it's gonna get worn out. But the I believe it's because the neck is bent, slightly because of the tension in the strings. Your best bet is to just get a new guitar, and make sure to properly replace the strings every once in awhile so they don't add a lot of tension to the neck. If you want it fixed go to a guitar shop and ask them yourself, and they'll either say get a new guitar or they'll replace the neck.
