What was the felony for? If it was for theft for example, then a lot of companies are going to see that as a character trait and the common perception is that people don't change. If you want to get them to overlook it you are going to have to do something that directly contradicts that and do it repeatedly. Even then, the job market is competitive. From the companies perspective, why would they risk you when they have five other applicants that don't carry that risk?
