Google - Should you ever sign a non compete clause?

well some don't like it when the employee seeks other employment so what they do is keep the employee from looking for employment else where so you can't if you sign a paper saying you won't seek employment else where by another company or a rival cause if you do they can sue you for competeing with another company i don't think those are very nice and i wouldn't sign it unless your sure you wouldn't look else where
