Is there a device that when you put a sample on it it would indicate the middle?

I have a series of rectangular samples in which I have to trace the middle section, and I always have to measure everything and then mark the middle. Is there anything that can do that?

try to use rubber bands. if you cross them you will always get the middle, even with uneven shapes, but only works if it has 4 corners
