Short answer is I don't know however, I can tell you this; Malaysia is a country that takes a very dim view of illegal drugs up to and including the death penalty. If it were me, I would contact the Malay embassy and ask them, if they say that Tramadol is acceptable, I would ask for the response in writing (an email that you can print), I would travel with the written response and a copy of the doctors prescription (tell your doctor that it is for travel and ask for a printer printed copy - do not take a hand-written doctor scribble). I would also ask the doctor for a temporary pain reliever that is non-narcotic and not likely to get you shot if someone is in a bad mood. Hope this helps.
