Well, for me, I would definitely get a gaming PC over 1,000$ (since mine is over this price.) However, I would recommend a 2,000$ PC with 2.6 GHz + with at least 1TB (1,000 GB) and nice processors and systems. I would also get one with a wireless mouse and keyboard. The screen should be pretty large. I have an ACER gaming PC and I love it.
PS: I know this isn't part of the question, but I also recommend a Logitech USB Headset (if you plan on getting one) because they are the best headsets I've ever seen for such a low price. (About 30$)
Contact customer service at tigerdirect.com or newegg.com and tell them what games you want to play. They will put together a kit for you and give you a pretty good price. Do not get a main board with built in video.
Solid state drives are fairly cheap no, so get one. It can be small, just enough to hold your operating system and a few games. You can store your records and movies on a cheaper, slower disk. Or on DVDs.
Ram is quite cheap, a hundred bux for all your mainboard can hold, and that will avoid slowdowns when you play games.
Videos cards are all over the map. Ask around and see what other gamers advise.
It is possible to put together a nice computer for 500 bux plus the video card. The ram and SSD would bump that up, and you would want to get the money to do that.
Remember that monitors are not all the same shape. The old tv standard was 4 units wide by 3 units high. Some monitors now are 1280 pixels by 1024 pixels, 5x4 aspect ratio, and that is a nice shape for most word processing and web surfing programs. (I turn mine sideways to get a 4x5 aspect ratio.) Some monitors are 1440x900 pixels, which seems to me like looking through a venetian blind. Some are even wider than that. Depending on your game, you might prefer one size or another.
Till I get a monitor could I use a TV as one? The gaming computer I'm getting has an HDMI output and so does my tv. Would that work or no?
Well, that's the way it's supposed to work.
I been looking around and I found one cyberpower gamer xtreme desktop 8Gb memory and 1TB hard drive for 469$ seems really good. If you want to take a look at it, it's on best buy under computers and gaming pc. Tell what you think about.
