I am shy but sharting to come out of my shell. I want to start 8th grade cheerleading but i have very little flexability i can touch the palm of my hands to the ground bending over with my legs straight. Thats pretty much it. Oh i have great ballance though. The thing is i really want to do cheerleading and this is the last thing anyone whould think of me doing. Like going in front of the whole school dancing and yelling... Not a thing you would expect from a shy girl but i at least want to be flexable so i wont make a complete fool of myself. I just want the experience. Please help. Thx

you can go by one simple pricidure. relax, repent, stay focused, with a deep breath. and balence against a wall/side lever. and at the same time, bring your leg up to your spine, repeat with other leg. and sit in a chair, while extending both legs, outward, comfortably. while having one of your girls to bring each leg toward the back rest of the chair. if you happen to have anymore problems. stay tough, and sexy. cheerleading can have simularities with modeling. il this site. your the 1st person im trying to give advice to... feels good <^_`>
Stretches for right/left split: stand up with your dominant leg (the one you can pull most) in front of you. With your legs straight, bend down to your dominant leg and try to get your nose to touch your knee. Afterwards, go into a lunge position but make sure your knee does NOT go over your foot and keep your back leg straight with one hand on each side of your bent leg. Then, you're gonna straighten out your front leg and bend your back leg. Now go down to your front leg as low as you can. Try to hold these for at least a minute and stretch EVERYDAY. Always point your toes :)
For jumps: do lots and lots of squats, lunges, jump squats, and wall sits, they help with height. Also point your toes. Im also a Cheerleader at my school too and im also considered shy. Cheer is a great way to find more confidence in yourself.
When you cheer, try not to think of everyone watching you. Remember to keep your movements sharp and tight, always point your toes, and always smile.
