Glucose or fructose as bacterial energy source?

What is the preference of bacteria as an energy source: glucose or fructose? And why? And what about disaccharides such as sucrose and lactose?

Answer

Each strain of bacteria has its preferred food. For instance, grapes are naturally host to yeasts which produce wine. Wheat is naturally host to yeasts which produce CO2. Yogurt bacteria only eat lactose and they produce B vitamins.
