How many are left?
I've lost access to my Yahoo and Outlook accounts because they demand a mobile number to verify the user's identity (!)
Firstly, I consider that an unacceptable breach of privacy.
Secondly, I do not have a mobile, and I never will - for sound scientific reasons concerning unsafe levels of microwave radiation.
So where can I get a free email account that respects users privacy?
Giving your mobile number is optional you do not have to give it. I have an outlook, yahoo, google and several other email accounts and not one of them have a mandatory requirement for a mobile number in order to create an email account.
The reason for them requesting it is part of a security measure which you are perfectly free to ignore, as I do. The reason it is NOT mandatory is for teh simply reason that many many people do not have a mobile and if it was mandatory they have a very restricted number of users.
I submit that you have not read the terms and agreements properly or have misread a step when trying to make an account.
To help you out, google does not require a mobile number in order to make an email account.
Perhaps I did not make myself clear, you do not have to give a real mobile number. I made one up and registered yet another (39 and counting) email account which I have no intention of ever using...

I tried that with Outlook - the fake number - and it didn't work because access to the account is dependent upon Them "verifying" the number with a text/phonecall.
No - you are the one who is misinformed.
Recent events - lost my password for my Yahoo account. So I tried to take out a new one - I could not get beyond the registration screen because I did not enter a mobile number, Their HELP PAGE now says, re: creating an account, that it is impossible to do so without a valid mobile number.
I have already been shut out of an Outlook account I once had, for the same reason.
