I work at a residential deaf school in Mexico, and one of my coworkers found a baby quail out in the open on the playground. We had to move him to keep the kids from accidentally squashing him, and now I have been entrusted with his care. I looked online, and every site suggested feeding baby quail "chick start" and things like that, but I have none and have no way of getting into town for supplies. I just have typical human food and dog food; how can I keep this little guy alive?
*He is peeping vigorously and can waddle on his own, but he keeps trying to jump and falls over. His eyes are open, but he's definitely too fragile to keep himself alive on his own.
Found a baby quail, live far from town, have no baby bird food. What can I feed it to keep it alive?
Details:
While the water dish information was helpful, I mentioned in my question that "I looked online, and every site suggested feeding baby quail 'chick start' and things like that, but I have none and have no way of getting into town for supplies." Thus, I cannot try what I do not have and cannot acquire.
