My husband just got orders for Fort Lewis, WA. We are set to move this coming August (2017). He is currently a E5 promotable. Just waiting on points for his E6. I am a stay-at-home mom. Our boys will be 8yrs, 7yrs, and 9 months old when we move. We are both 26yrs old. This will be our first real PCS (meaning this one isn't driving distance to home). We are originally from Maryland and so this is a drastic change of location and weather. What am I to expect of the base? the housing? the area? Just looking for as many details as possible on all different aspects of this base. All the details online seem to be so outdated or its biased since its the base's website...looking for real feedback, the good and bad! Thanks for your input!
