GMO, hydroponics, rooftop gardens, greenhouse...are all ways food can grow besides a farm. A big issue with having this food is really distribution (particularly for cases where there is famine from a natural disater or war). How do we make it possible for a surplus of food available for people who really need it?

As a so called Christian nation, you would think we would follow Jesus words in the Bible at John 21:15-17, where he says,“Feed my little sheep.” Although Jesus was primarily referring to spiritual food, he did at that time feed 5,000 miraculously literal food.
Today because of greed, political unrest, and no natural affection, 2 Timothy 3:1-5, it is hard to completely reach out to those in need even in our own neighborhoods. But it can be done.
Some in different areas are growing neighborhood gardens. This offers about 5 to 10 people, depending on the size, to plant and cultivate their own vegetables for use or even sell them in a farmers market. This has helped many to have better health, increased funds and even a feeling of accomplishment.
There is as The Bible says, "More happiness in giving then there is in receiving".
Acts 20:35 Giving someone knowledge on how to provide for themselves, and then having them pass that knowledge on to another is a great gift.
"If I give you one fish, you will eat for a day. If I teach you how to fish, you can eat for a life time".
jw.org (The Ministry of Relief) shows how one group of people are helping in many ways.
