Five times a number increased by 7 is 24 find the number?

Like your other question, it does not seem to make sense unless you are not dealing with whole numbers.
24 - 7 =17.
17 divided by 5 = 3.4 (or three and two-fifths).

Hi Charlottelagos,

First number increased by 7 so number is, x+7 = 24

X= 24-7
= 17

Now number is five times so,
17/5= 3.4

So number is 3.4

--> 5(3.4)+7 = 24
