Basic facts about my fish:
2.5 gallon tank
Got him 5 months ago from petsmart
Never has had any contact with a female
SUPER aggressive
Flares his gills a lot
He is spitting out bubbles every day
Fish help?

Huh, that's interesting!
In the fish kingdom it is almost certain that the mother will take care of the young, the father just does what he wants. (Don't watch Finding Nemo).
It is certainly possible you got a female instead of a male, as a male would not spit bubbles for young.
What I find is concerning is that you fish is super aggressive, which is a trait that male fishes have.
Perhaps your fish is a transgender. XD
That's quite possible.
Here's how you can tell if your fish is a male or female without molesting it:
Beta fish males are far more vibrant than females (to impress females) and have larger fins.
Females generally have larger bodies, but fins are smaller.
If you are unsure you can take your fish to petco and they can make sure without any charge!
