I am in love with a fictional character in Mortal Kombat X and when someone does a fatality on her I get mad? Is this normal?

I love the show Glee and I am in love with one of the characters and whenever someone says something mean or does a fatality I get mad. It just means the the director has done the job of making you like the character.
