Hi, I was just given a cat and I think she might be pregnant. I do not have any experience with pregnant animal but I've have a few pregnancies myself lol. Her abdomen is large, it can be seen when she stands. She's extremely affectionate, more then any cat I've ever met. She's either in someones lap or hiding in a closest all afternoon. Also, last night I noticed her two lower mammaries are either swollen or have started producing milk and her nipples are very pink and point outwards. I'm fairly certain she is pregnant but I have no idea how far long she would be. Based on her symptoms now, anybody got any idea?
Feline pregnancy question?

Well she is def preggers. I would expect you to have grandkittens very soon- as early as next week or it could take about another month but I doubt it. In case you haven't already- set up a box with comfy towels or blankets so that she has someplace to give birth, if she has a favorite hiding place, put it there. she will go someplace secluded to give birth(closet, under the bed, corner of a room, etc). She also needs to be eating kitten food so that she has the extra nutrients to pass on to her kittens- they will be draining a lot of nutrients from her, esp after they are born). When she is giving birth it's important to give her space and just keep an eye on her. Momma's know best and if you interfere unnecessarily then it will stress her out. Also, sometimes it will take a long time for the kittens to all come out so be prepared for several hours of waiting for her to give birth to them all(I even knew of a case where it took all day). Like humans it will be a bit messy, and she will eat the stuff that comes out(its full of nutrients, gross but necessary) so give it a day after she gives birth to clean up the towels. Hope that helps :) Good luck!
