Hi, my boyfriend has received a congestion charge in the post where it shows a car that looks like his with the same number plate driving through a bus lane in London. We live in Plymouth and my boyfriend was in Newton Abbott working when the car was spotted. About a couple weeks before this happened he put his car up for sale on the Internet so we think someone has copied his number plate. You can clearly see in the pictures given to us that the number plate has the same digits but is missing the GB on the left hand side and on his real number plate it has his garage name underneath. He has appealed to the London tribunals and they have said this doesn't prove that his car wasn't in London at the time because he could have changed the registration plate. He also said that his director in his work could give evidence as to his whereabouts because the vans they drive in work have trackers fitted. Again they have said this doesn't prove his car wasn't in London. The car was spotted at 2:45pm and we have looked through his bank statements to see if he went anywhere and he didn't that day other than work, his car was just in our driveway. Has anyone got any ideas on how he can prove his innocence or else he'll end up having to pay a fine to a crime he didn't commit! Any answers will help, Thankyou!
