So he wants us to find a name of the movie. & he gave us a few hints. The movie is about logs & it's base off of some novel (which is also about logs, obviously) by a famous american writer. The movie was nominated (for what he didn't say) & also he didn't say if the movie had won any awards. This movie was made in the 2nd half of 20th century, so somewhere between 1950s and 1999.
If anyone knows what he was talking about please, tell me!
Thanks in advance:)
Extra credit opportunity from my math teacher. Help? Anyone?

If it's an American writer, Henry David Thoreau talked about chopping up logs quite a lot, not just in the making of his abode but in staying warm and earning a living. If it's logs as in logarithms and mathematics, I don't really know many Americans who have contributed to mathematics apart from John Nash and his field is more partial differentials and differential geometry,
I looked it up it was made by Bram Stoker in 1958 and was nominated. Its Dracula.
Did Bram Stoker famously die the same week the Titanic sank? That would have him in dying in April 1912.
I did some research & my last answer was "A Beautiful Mind". But today at school he told us that he was talking about a novel by Ken Kesey's "Sometimes a Great Notion". Our next extra credit opportunity is to watch the movie:)
The thing is I'm not sure if he was talking about logarithms or just logs. Maybe it just was a tricky question? But thanks, I will look them up.
