Examine Lord of the Flies as an adventure novel?

Well, I'd say it is an adventure novel but examining it that way is missing the point of it a little bit. It's a bit like saying Lord of the Flies is a papery thing with words printed on various pages. The adventure aspects are obvious (being trapped on a desert island, two factions arising, the dangers of the island, the dangers of each other, the removal of human customs and social glue). The book is much more important than the what and the who, though. It's about the why.
