I'm needing to know where I stand here;
I'm working out my notice as I'm leaving at the end of this month. My employer has decided to change the stores pay date.
We normally get paid from the 29th to the 28th (e.g. 29th June- 28th July) and are paid those days that we have worked. Now, they've change that, giving employees no notice.
They've decided to instead go from the 17th to the 17th (e.g. 17th June- 17th July) but having the money paid to us on the 28th. (Confused? Cause I am!)
Now, I was told last month that they were looking at doing this but nothing was confirmed, also that it wouldn't affect me as I'm leaving anyway and would be paid out my full salary and holiday pay.
This month however, with no warning, he's only paying the staff for the 29th July to the 17th August! This leaves us all 2 weeks paid short this month. This includes myself!
Apparently, I'll be paid the rest of my salary and holiday pay at the end of next month?
My Husband is still waiting for his holiday pay from the same company (2 months late) and no staff were spoken to about this and this wasn't confirmed.
I don't know where I stand legally and can't seem to find anything about this online, but this can't be legal can it?
No staff members are on contract (except for one that stipulates pay day is "around the 28th") but paying employees 2 weeks short without notice just doesn't seem legal?
What are my rights and where do I stand with this?
Thanks for the help!
