I started to use smart solutions for electricity consumption. And I found out some weaknesses in privacy politics.
Did you know what kind of information do they take from you and how often?
- They can track whether or not you are at home and what are you doing only by your electricity consumption.
Is there any solution what allows you to protect the data, so electricity provider doesn't know what I'm doing?
Electricity providers can track you by your consumption of electricity?

The only thing they know is how much electricity you use and what time. They can guess a few things, but that is a worthless way to track somebody.
In England the electric companies know there will be a huge surge at the end of a soccer match when millions of people switch on their teakettles. They schedule power from French and Spanish providers, and when the game ends, all those generators are switched on, just in time to power millions of teakettles. If those soccer watchers objected to being tracked that way, they would have to go without their tea, or put up with a huge brownout.
Yes, we can't avoid it at the moment. Everything is fine till there are no accidents.
The fun par is when in the end of month you receive report how much electricity you have spent for day, hours etc. And if anyone get's that report before you, they know when you are at home, when you ar cooking, watching TV, if your family was at home at specific hours etc.
