My partner runs around the house and unscrews the bulbs that are switched off, unplugs extension cords with nothing plugged into them, and disconnects all lamps that are already switched off. She thinks that it will save tens of dollars a month (if not hundreds). I tell her that it might save us pennies a month. We are not talking about a device with a built in clock or led's, nor stand by type of devices.
We continuously argue the point, but she does not really understand electricity.
Can you please give your expert opinion so that we both can stop the arguments and put this to bed? Thanks, mitch

What they are doing may seem smart but it is just a waste of time because all electrical devices are designed to not use electricity when they are not being used apart from if they have a light on them like if you put your to on standby it will most likely have a little light on it to inform you its on standby but if you fully turn it off it will not use any electricity at all.
