E-mail or Email?

Another advance in technology that revolutionary influence our way to write, besides handphone via sms, is computer via e-mail. No wonder sometimes we encounter such uncommon writing as email instead of e-mail. I insist on using e-mail however. Why? Because it's not one word. Anyway, I do not blame those who use email instead of e-mail. As long as the receiver of that e-mail understand what the sender means, I think that's no problem at all. I don't really care about what linguists say, because in this globalitation era, everyone is free to express themselves, including the way they want to write.
