Our 7 yr old neice was seen preferring to do things visually like watching tv from the side, concerned she was taken to the ophthalmologist and dx with dual corneas in each eye allowing her to have normal front vsion and a secondary side vision. Is that even possible and if so what is the condition called as I can find nothing on this topic and am thinking they should take her to another specialist.

I'm not certain but you're child may have a rare condition known as Keratoconus, translated from Greek it means "Horn Cone" because of the abnormal shape of the person's cornea, and can cause problems with the person's vision.
I hope this helps at least a little bit.
