We just built a house on some land a man owned a while ago. She was fine with it but a couple motha later she's acting all strange near our basement stairs. When I'm in the kitchen she stares Ito the basement. She does this everyday now. Then when I'm hanging out with friends, we will go down there. She follows but wants to leave immediately. Then I caught her walking down today. She stopped half way down the steps and just stared at the wall in front of her. When I spoke to her her, she got startled. What is going on? I'm honestly nervous about it.

The dog can probably hear or more likely smell something that you can't, I had a similar thing when I was a kid and my Springer would do all of the things you are describing, sometimes he would bark at the wall and growl too.
We eventually discovered that there was some mice behind the wall, they finally made it through the wall and we trapped them and after filling their hole with some cement (it was quite a long hole) the dog never even looked at the wall again.
One of the things my father thought it might be was wiring behind the wall making a high pitched whining that only the dog could hear. It was definitely the mice.
