Between the ages of 7-10, their was nothing more I loved than batting while playing cricket. I'm twenty years old now and haven't played in ten years. I'm not too sure what im asking anymore but i loved it because I was really good at it, and now I feel as if i cannot bat at all. Will my skills come back or has it been too long?

Hey there, to answer your question I would say that it depends on the amount of time and effort that you put into playing cricket. If you really want to improve and gain back the skill that you have lost then I guess you have to put in a lot of time and effort into it. I wouldn't necessarily call it a talent as it is more like a skill developed through abundant amounts of practice. Let's say you go to the gym and you work out for like a few months and you gain muscles right? You then take a break for like let's say a year. The muscles built through that work out would more likely shrink during the time period in which you had taken a break from. This is also like the skills developed withing a sport or anything you do. In conclusion It is all about your determination, desire and the willingness to commit as much time into that sport. I am an athlete myself and based on experience I too took a break and haven't played hockey for like 2 years now. I had lost some of my skill and is developing and gaining it again through the time I invest on it through current weekly practices that I had started to attend each month. Don't let any obstacles get into your way when you are passionate about something. Go for it ! Age doesn't matter ! I know a lot of people who had stopped following their dreams and things that they used to love to do due to their age. Oh yeah I also played cricket when I was younger so yeah I kind of know how you feel. Anyways best of luck in your current situation :) Don't over work yourself trying to regain a skill. It takes time and don't get discourage by time as your reward comes in the end, I promise you that. :)
Thank you.
