My parent hit me once in the face a while ago because we were arguing and I was being a brat. The person was under lots of stress and hasn't done it since. But does this count as child abuse?

Now I've had a couple black eyes from getting slapped/punched. My parent and I argue a lot and get into screaming and crying fights, but I usually stop resisting once I know I'm going to get hit. I don't know if I should tell anyone now. It hasn't happened since March, but I'm getting worried. Also, every once and a while, my parents will raise their hand or fist to hit me, but will block it with their other hand, but get really close to me. I'm getting really scared and don't know how much longer I can walk on eggshells. I hate not being able to speak my opinion at home anymore.

It depends on what you did. If they hit you for no reason probably yes. If they had an extremely good reason then no. If you were arguing I would expect a parent would "banish" their child to your room. If you're worried about it talk to a friend or someone else BUT who smacked you. If it happened several months ago it wouldn't matter
