SIDS is more common in male babies. It's less common in babies that are put down on their backs. It's less common with certain materials near the baby. It's more common in winter. There's a link with a parent who smokes or the age of the mother. It could be that dummies/pacifiers are also significant but I haven't seen it yet. To be honest, I've seen that many statistics about very different things that it looks like people are still fumbling blindly to find an answer to this.
