My gf and I have really been hitting it off. We go places all the time and have a blast and are semi-intimate (we're both religious and so we haven't done anything drastic). She and I find ourselves too flustered to talk to one another in public because we're so shy in public. She was okay with me telling everyone about our relationship until one day a freshman in our chorale group annoyed me into explaining that she and I were dating. He began to tell everyone, embarrassing her so badly that that night she broke up with me saying that she wasn't ready for a relationship and just wanted to be friends. Is that true or is that just her being embarrassed by peer pressure? Is there any way I can repair things between us?
Does my gf really just want to be friends?

You should've held your ground. Just tune those people out.
As far as fixing whats broken, it's going to take a long time. Probably longer than the time you have. You could try. Start off slow and easy. If she has broken up with you, you'll know in a hurry. If she was embarrassed, you might have a chance.
Just try. That's all I'm saying.
Good luck.
