Does my fiance have my back enough to be my wife?

I Don't Know About You ..... but I wouldn't have much to say to or about anyone .... who ever got in my face. No, your girlfriend doesn't have your back. She has no idea about that type of loyalty and you cannot make someone feel like that if they were not raised in the enviornment that it takes to build guts and grit. His response to you was elementary and uncivilised.
If she was raised around that ... she is that. No "discussion" should ever have to go to the length of what you were dealt.

I stood up to my Father for my son. I idolized my Father until the day he stopped speaking to me .... BECAUSE ... my son was accepted to the Naval Academy, where Dad & I wanted him to go to college. My son wanted to go to UDel ... it's good for engineering too. Expensive.
I never had a negative discussion w/my kid but WOULD NOT give my seal of approval. My Dad wanted me to chew him out and to make my son change his mind. I could have. I said to my Dad .... I want Kyle to go to USNA too Dad but it's his choice & future not mine. He has to find his way through it but I will never destroy my relationship with him over it especially when he is STILL making a good choice.
My son and I reached a new level in our relationship over that.
My Daddy's a retired Navy Mustang fighter pilot AND was helicoptor rescue as well. Dad never forgave ME for that but he cosigned on a few loans for the kid. The kid has never been late on a payment.
I wish MY Dad Loved ME the way I love that kid. The "KID" graduated with 5 degrees ...on time with his dignity and self esteem.
LONG STORY??? YUP! Life is a long story .... just remember that ... when you ask if "she's got your back".
