... kitten/cat food. It's a very much loved 6 month old kitten, who has never been out. Had vaccinations, he has been neutered and chipped, and is probably spoilt, as he comes first in the family. Just my husband and I (Senior citizens). I've had cats and kittens all my life, but never had this problem before.

It should not cause a kitten to become aggressive. It's normal behavior for kittens and males especially. They prepare for adulthood learning how to attack and kill dinner and fight off an attacking cat. Its in their DNA because DNA doesnt know they live indoors and have free food. You can do several things such as having a bunch of balls and mice toys and you offer one of those when play gets rough. A laser light and kitty teaser are two valuable toys also.

Check with your vet to make sure your kitten is getting enough taurine.
Go back to a quality kibble (no grain or by-products) or canned kitten food if the kitten needs to for the time being.
Natural foods include human-grade raw meat such as diced up raw lamb meat, pieces of raw chicken meat. Raw food offered to cats should always be fresh.
Good luck!
