Does crowdsourcing benefit workers in term of career progression/development?

In my own personal opinion I believe that crowdsourcing is very helpful on your CV. From my own experience it helped me secure a job with an IT company after I stated the type of crowdsourcing work I had done, such as transcription. It also has benefited me in terms of development of my skills, which can be applied to my current work.
