Does anybody know how to get rid of the barnacles of whales?

Whales are so lovely as I watched them on Northern Vancouver Island. Such a lovely creation.
Barnacles although smaller are no less impressive.
To remove one from the other is done by electrocution. I suggest this idea not be used. A dead whale without barnacles is unimportant.
Barnacles exist on boats and ships. they scrape them off or use an electric current on the hull of the ship to clear them off.
