Does an employer get informed after their H2B workers' visa interviews?

Hi everyone!
I was wondering if H2B visa employers/petitioners get contacted or informed by the embassy (or any other government institutions) whether the visas of people they would like to bring to the US are approved/refused?
In other words, if go to the embassy on a visa interview how does my employer find out how it went? Apart from telling him myself, of course.
