Does alcohol evaporate if it dries on a surface. I work in a kitchen that serves alcohol uncooked. I have severe ocd and I feel like the alcohol is getting everywhere: I see people touch it and then not wash their hands. They only wipe their hands on their aprons then touch all of the equipment that I have to touch. I do not drink or touch alcohol because of my religion, so I am terrified of the stuff. However, I was wondering if the alcohol evaporates once it is dry. So if it gets on their hands and clothes does it evaporate when it dries off. The alcohol is brandy in the romanoff sauce. I am so upset I have hardly slept in the six months I have worked there. Please help.

Get into therapy and take medication. OCD will show up in other areas besides alcohol. It is not simply your religion giving you problems.
Either that or get a job where alcohol isn't used.
Your psychological problems are yours to deal with and it's not up to other people to make allowances for them.
To actually answer your question, yes, Alcohol does air-dry. That's why hand-sanitizer works so well, it dries fast because it's most alcohol. If you are still concerned you can always just wear some food-preparation gloves. I hope this helps, let me know if you have any more questions.
