Adam Laxalt actually celebrated when the 1973 landmark decision Roe v. Wade was overturned. He would let states outlaw abortion even for rape victims. He is a Senator and is not involved at the State Level on the issue.
The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) ads such as "Girls " and "Arrest" have become a controversy since they suggest that Laxalt would strip away abortion rights in the state if he were elected to the Senate. Accordingly, the "Arrest" ad narration states “Laxalt would let states outlaw abortion, criminalize it, even for victims of rape or incest.”
However, there are no statements that show Laxalt supporting criminalizing abortion for women or explaining his stance on exceptions for rape or incest, except his statement of the Supreme Court ruling as a "historic victory" and his statement on the Roe v. Wade decision citing it as a " joke or wrongly decided".
