Does a Shiny Starter Pokemon on Emerald effect the chance of encountering other Shinies?

Earlier today I entered by 359th Safe Reset, and encountered a Shiny Torchic. I was wondering if this makes other wild Pokemon appear more often, or just the chance has been changed? Any sort of advice is accepted. This was my first Shiny, so I was quite proud of myself.
