an object of catholic worship but is forbidden to worship idols in the Bible. It has no power at all.The cross without anything hanging on it is used by the church of Jesus(Baptists, methodists, etc) as a reminder of what Jesus did for our salvation and not to worship the cross but to worship God Himself. The cross is only stating the person or church Worships Jesus & is not an object for our worship. You worry for nothing.God loves you & wants you to know Him.Need help for being saved, contact me & be glad to help.I am a Baptist servant of God.

I put the first one around my neck...I looked it up and this is what it says... Those who wear it will receive great graces, especially if they wear it around their neck." I am only answering this question so that you understand the Catholic viewpoint. We don't worship Mother Mary; we venerate her. When we are in times of trouble, we pray to her to intercede, to pray on our behalf. So yes, that necklace with the Blessed Mother on it is special. I'm sorry this sounds harsh, but I wish other dominations would stop believing we worship anyone but God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. I'll keep you in my prayers. God bless. <3 -a Catholic teen
Other meanings of the word venerate means worship, honored . Venerate also implies a holding as holy or sacrosanct. 15 To claim that Mary was the “mother of God” elevates her to a position where humans would tend to worship her, and that is what has happened for centuries. Hundreds of millions of people in many lands have prayed to her or through her and have given worshipful devotion to images and icons of her. While theologians may try to excuse this by saying that such veneration of Mary is only an indirect way of worshiping God, that is not the way God views it. “There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, a man, Christ Jesus.” (1 Timothy 2:5; 1 John 2:1, 2) Jesus himself said: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”—John 14:6.

Jesus Christ said: “You should pray like this: ‘Our Father in heaven . . . ’” He also said: “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one can come to the Father except through me. . . . If you ask for anything in my name, I will do it.”—Matt. 6:9; John 14:6, 14
Mary was proclaimed by the Church to be The·o·toʹkos, meaning “God-bearer” or “Mother of God.” However, neither that expression nor the idea is found in the text of any translation of the Bible.
Our last glimpse of Mary in the Bible does not show her being bowed down to and worshiped as “Our Lady”, the “Blessed Virgin”, but rather we see her in an upper room together with other faithful women and the apostles and with her other sons, there worshiping God and his Son Christ Jesus. (Acts 1:13, 14)
There are other commonly accepted religious teachings and practices that have diverted people from the true worship of the Creator, giving devotion to the creation.

Giving Mary devotion directly or indirectly, praying to her, bowing down to images and icons of her, is worshiping the creation rather than the Creator. It is idolatrous, and Christians are instructed to “flee from idolatry.” (1 Corinthians 10:14)
