I am doing an EPQ and need to create a graph on people opinions, if you could respond it would be great.
Basically do you think conformity is a good or bad thing/ has it helped or made things worse.
Do you think conformity has a negative or positive impact on society?

In America it's called conformity. The same thing in England is called tradition. Why is one good and the other bad?
Suppose you bought an electric appliance and the plug wouldn't fit your outlets. How would you feel about conformity in that case?
What do you do with a nonconformist who won't conform to the current standards of nonconformity?
Get the point? It depends on what you are talking about. It is a subjective judgment.
Conformity to what? You are posing a subject with no object. IOW it depends on what you are talking about. If you talk about a contract, conformity is legally enforceable. If you talk about writing something, conformity is called plagiarism and it is a crime.
Conformity in everyday life, it's endless, e.g manners, rules, how gay rights became more accepted as more people conformed to the idea that it is acceptable, the same with black rights etc, on the otherhand it could be said that people conformed to the Nazi's beliefs. My EPQ is based around the idea of conformity in psychology I guess, e.g Asch's experiment, and applying it to real life. All I want is for people to answer 'yes, I think conformity is positive to society.' or 'no I think conformity is negative to society.' Literally for a bar chart I can add to my essay's introduction.
'Both positive and negative' is another option, this is just a way for be to get some polling information.
What I am discussing is called conformity, although adding a section on tradition will help bulken my EPQ, so thank you. I know it is a subjective judgement and that is what I'm after, I'm just creating a tally on what people believe, in regards to conformity being positive or negative to society.
