Will you still have the haircut you want even if your s.o doesn't allow you to? How important is your s.o opinion when it comes to this kind of decision?
Do you ask your significant other's opinion before getting a new haircut?

It is nothing to do with your s.o. what you do with *YOUR* hair. They might not like it, but they are supposed to love you not your hairstyle.
If this person wants to dictate to you the way you cut your hair then what's next?
The last time someone told me to cut my hair I was in the Marines, is your s.o. your commanding officer, or your partner?
Sure why not? I think there is a balance to find and also exceptions. If I go to get my longer hair trimmed and I'm growing it out . My wife may decide maybe I should just go back to short, but I wouldn't change my plan like that. If she had been wondering when I could get my long hair cut off I had put things off for a while and decided to surprise her and stop in the salon after work and sit down, ask for the very short haircut she wanted and watch almost 2 years of hair get cut all off.
