Im going to Palmaston north and i have a dvd and a lap top i was wondring if I need internet to play a dvd if i do then i wont bring my laptop and dvd if i dont need internet then i will take my laptop and dvd?

No, it doesn't matter if you have PC, Mac, ipad, iphone, etc. You do not need internet to watch a DVD. Now if you are gonna be watching streaming video like from Netflix or a place like that... then yes you do. But a straight DVD or BR no you do not need the internet to just watch it.
No, if your MacBook has a disk drive, you can insert your DVD and play it directly. If your laptop doesn't have a disk drive, you may need to convert the DVD to a digital format with a DVD ripper (like WinX DVD Ripper, Handbrake, etc.) and external disk drive.
