Say I'm walking down the street to school or something. If I hear a car coming behind me, I walk slightly faster and try to get past a tree or a crack in the paving or anything that marks a point in the road. I try to do this before the car passes me. This somehow reassures me that the day is going to be good. It's kind of like gambling in a weird way..
I wouldn't say I'm a clean freak, but I do prefer it if things are organized and neat, but I'm not uptight and strict about it. My dad's a psychiatrist but I feel uncomfortable asking him. Need help from people I don't know
Do these symptoms suggest OCD?

A psychiatrist can only figure out the side effects and prescribe a medication.
However I think most the best medicine for this situation is just letting yourself walk normally. Stepping on a point or crack in the road or speeding up when a car passes by isn't going to make anything bad or good happen. It's good to want to be organized and clean but that shouldn't keep you from simply enjoying a walk to the store or hanging out with your friends.
You should talk to your dad about it.
It would be unethical for your dad to treat you or prescribe medication. However, since your dad is in that field he's got connections all over the place so he could find you the best therapist in the area for what you need. Talk about a blessing in disguise. How fortunate!
Thanks, much appreciated
