Do the cells in the carpet of a mosque have a special name?

I visited a mosque once and the carpet there was specially designed more or less to mimic hundreds of individual prayer rugs laid out on the floor, so that each attendee would have his own clearly defined prayer space. Is there a special name for these "cells" marked upon the carpet?
