I've noticed that my gums are receding, and I know that that can be a sign of gum disease. However, my gums only bleed when I brush too hard on them and I don't have tooth aches. I searched it and I read that gum receding can also be caused by brushing to harshly. I don't know what is going on. Should I tell my mom about it? Or is it nothing serious and I'm just overreacting.

You should tell your mother youre concerned about your teeth. However it is not necessary for her to set up an appointment with the dentist but be sure to ask when its time for you're cleaning (which is twice a year). My advice is to stop brushing so hard and if you smoke, don't. Other than that you sound fine if youre not in any pain or if theres nothing else wrong with them. Everybodys mouth is different.
