When I watch films I pretend I am in them and after they are over I get really depressed and begin to pretend that the characters are with me so I talk to them (which is really just talking to myself) It happens a lot and I'm starting to get worried about myself , is it just me who does this?

I cant say for sure, but if u do then i do too. I dont interact with characters in movies but certain movies can do an emotional number on me. I cant really explaine it but I can attach myself on an emotional level that can put me in a bad, sad depression for weeks. Especially if someone or something dies. As far as u talking to urself, well i do that as well. I dont know if its kuz i live a pretty isolated life, but it is something ive done as long as i can remember. For me its my way of processing my thoughts and working through issues. Sometimes i feel like the only person i can talk to is myself kuz everyone else thinks i talk above them or over them and that couldnt be farther from the truth. Its just the way i am. I personally dont think there is anything wrong with it as long as u know the difference between whats real and whats imaginary. If its something that takes u away or replaces interaction with real people then that may be a red flag to a bigger underlining problem and u should probably talk to someone about it. The thing is, is that we all have are silly little quirks and odd habits. They are the things that make us unique; not only from one another but also in our ability to see and understand others who share the same quirks and habits as u do.
So becareful not to let others rob u from the things that make u special just because its not what they consider as "normal". Yet at the same time, prevention is the best
procaution. If ur worried, then do something about. Like the saying goes, "dont put off tomorrow what u can do today." I wish u the best!
